Terms of Service

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using VistaCV, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

You must be at least 16 years old to use VistaCV.

2. What VistaCV is

VistaCV is a web application for writing, formatting and exporting a CV. It also includes CV Score, an automated check of a CV; a Job Tracker board; a Skill Profile; and optional AI features that compare a CV with a job posting or read a posting for you.

VistaCV is an independent project operated from Mexico. “VistaCV”, “we” and “us” in these terms mean its operator.

3. Your account

You’re responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in details secure. Tell us at hello@vistacv.com if you think someone else has access to it.

Give us accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current. It’s how we reach you about your account and billing.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that’s being used to harm someone, or where the law requires it.

4. Plans and billing

VistaCV has a free plan, which includes a limited allowance of some features, and paid plans. What each plan includes and costs is shown on our pricing page and enforced by the product itself. Paid plans may be subscriptions, one-time purchases, or passes that last a fixed time.

Payments are handled by Dodo Payments, which acts as the merchant of record. That means Dodo is the seller for the transaction, Dodo rather than VistaCV appears on your statement, and Dodo’s own terms apply to the payment itself. Prices may be shown in your local currency, and taxes are applied at checkout where required.

The amount shown on the checkout page when you confirm is the amount you agree to pay, and it governs if it ever differs from what another page shows. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time from the billing portal in your account. Cancelling stops future renewals.

5. Refunds

Your plan starts as soon as you buy it, so purchases aren’t refundable once a pass or subscription has started. Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals but doesn’t refund the current period.

If a technical problem on our side prevents you from using what you paid for and we can’t fix it, email hello@vistacv.com within 14 days of your purchase and we’ll refund it. Refunds are issued by Dodo Payments to the method you paid with. As merchant of record, Dodo also handles refund requests under its own buyer terms.

Nothing here limits any refund or cancellation right you have under the consumer law where you live.

6. Your content

Your CV is yours. You keep all rights to everything you write, upload or import into VistaCV, and we claim no ownership of it.

You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, show it back to you, format it in the template you choose, generate PDFs when you ask, and send it to the providers described in our Privacy Policy when you use a feature that needs them. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

You’re responsible for what you put in. Only enter details about other people, such as a reference, where you’re entitled to.

We won’t sell your content, publish it, or use it to train machine-learning models.

7. AI features

Match Job and Autofill use OpenAI to analyse job postings and, for matching, your CV. They run only when you start them, and what they send is described in our Privacy Policy.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. It’s a suggestion, not advice, and you’re responsible for checking it before you rely on it or put it in a CV.

8. Acceptable use

Use VistaCV to build CVs and manage your job search. Don’t use it to break the law, impersonate someone else, upload malware, harass anyone, or store content you have no right to hold.

Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, get around your plan’s limits, misuse the AI features, or access another user’s account or data.

9. Availability and changes to the service

We do our best to keep VistaCV available, but we can’t promise it will never be down. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because something we depend on fails. AI features may be paused or limited at times.

The product will change over time: features get added, changed and occasionally removed.

Features marked as beta are still being tuned, and we offer them as they are.

10. What we don’t promise

VistaCV is provided as it is. Beyond what these terms say, and beyond rights the law gives you that can’t be excluded, we make no guarantees about it.

In particular, we can’t promise you a job, an interview or a reply. CV Score is an automated check against fixed rules and keyword lists, and Match Job is an AI comparison. Both are guides for improving a CV, not a verdict from any employer’s system. Applicant tracking systems differ and change without notice, so nobody can honestly guarantee that every one of them will read a document correctly.

You’re responsible for making sure what your CV says about you is accurate before you send it to anyone.

11. Liability

As far as the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of VistaCV, such as lost earnings or a missed opportunity.

Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the event that caused it, or USD 50 if you haven’t paid us anything.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that can’t lawfully be excluded, including for fraud. If you’re a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

12. Ending the agreement

You can stop using VistaCV whenever you like and delete your account from the Account page. Deleting it cancels any active subscription and permanently removes your CVs and your Job Tracker board, so export anything you want to keep first.

If a paid plan ends, because you cancelled, a payment couldn’t be taken, or a pass ran out, you keep everything you’ve created. Your CVs aren’t deleted and stay readable and downloadable. The free plan’s limits apply again to anything new.

We may end this agreement if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Mexico, and the courts of Mexico have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you’re a consumer living elsewhere, this doesn’t take away the protection of any mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, or your right to bring proceedings there where that law allows it.

Before anything formal, please email us. Almost everything is easier to fix that way.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top always tells you when they last changed.

If a change materially affects your rights, we’ll give you notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use VistaCV after that means you accept the new terms; if you don’t, you can close your account.
